financial system, creating a more just society. Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Policy and Advocacy is responsible for
developing and executing strategic projects and initiatives to
further NEFEs public policy, advocacy and government affairs work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the
knowledge, skill, or ability required. Public Policy, Advocacy, and
Government Affairs Activities: Monitors and analyzes legislative,
regulatory and other policy developments and trends, and provides
subject matter expertise on issues within assigned policy
portfolio. Plans and executes projects, initiatives, meetings and
events in coordination with internal cross-functional teams and
external stakeholders. Creates, maintains and reviews resources
such as one-pagers, talking points, issues briefs, and
presentations to be used with internal or external audiences.
Represent NEFE at conferences, panels, meetings, webinars, and
other relevant engagements, including: Building relationships with
event organizers and thought leaders who present or attend;
Speaking on relevant topics or NEFEs initiatives; and Distilling
and disseminating relevant information back to NEFE staff Supports
the development of NEFEs strategic plan, objectives and
organizational initiatives. Manages NEFEs policy tracking systems,
tools and processes under the direction of the Managing Director.
Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Duties: Directly supervises
1-2 interns at the direction of the Managing Director. Minimum
Qualifications Bachelors degree from accredited college or
university in economics, political science, geography, education or
related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with
legislative tracking, review and policy analysis Experience
reviewing and interpreting scholarly research (e.g., academic
journals) Demonstrated technical and scholarly writing skills
including translating technical writing for non-research audiences
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective
relationships with key stakeholders Comfortable collaborating with
a team as well as working alone Ability to manage multiple projects
and deadlines Proficiency in MS Office applications Ability to
learn and utilize new software (e.g., policy tracking system)
Interest in financial education and financial well-being Commitment
to equity and inclusion as organizational practice and culture
Preferred Qualifications Masters degree from accredited university
in Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration
and Management, Education or related field Knowledge of and
experience in federal and state-level K-12 education policy and
administration Experience using FiscalNote/PolicyNote or other
legislative tracking software Experience delivering public
presentations and remarks to a wide range of audiences Knowledge of
an experience in the financial education space Physical/Mental
Demands of the Job Work hours are generally 8:30 AM -5:00 PM Monday
Friday up to 50% remote work is offered under normal circumstances.

Up to 20% travel expected with this position Compensation/Benefits
The base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 - $90,000,
with the final offer reflecting the candidates experience and
qualifications. NEFE provides a comprehensive benefits package,
