Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity involves serving as a Special Education Teacher for a K-7 classical charter school located in Arvada, CO. The position supports a split caseload of approximately 27 students, potentially increasing as additional evaluations are completed and students qualify for services. The school has about 500 scholars and offers a collaborative environment with a comprehensive team of Special Education professionals, including a School Psychologist, Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), and Occupational Therapist (OT). Responsibilities include: Providing specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities across grades 4-7. Collaborating with the existing Special Education Teacher to manage an effective caseload. Participating in evaluation processes using tools such as the WIAT for academic assessments. Working closely with the Special Education team and school staff to implement individualized education plans. Adhering to the school's classical education philosophy and integrating services within this framework. Maintaining accurate documentation and communication with parents and district personnel. Qualifications and desired experience: Certification or licensure in Special Education. Experience teaching K-7 students in a special education setting. Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with academic testing procedures and special education compliance requirements. Openness to learn new systems and protocols within the charter school environment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Schedule and Contract Details: Contract duration from ASAP through May 29th. Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Located in Arvada, CO.
