Competitive Pay | Benefits Available Position Summary The Shift
Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily operations
of the assigned shift, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining
safety standards, and performing advanced mechanical repairs. This
role includes leading a team of technicians while upholding
quality, communication, and compliance across all repair
activities. Key Responsibilities Shift & Operational Oversight Lead
technicians during assigned shift, ensuring quality repairs and
adherence to safety protocols. Manage workload distribution,
prioritize tasks, and monitor work progress. Enforce standard
operating procedures, company policies, and safety guidelines.
Repair & Maintenance Duties Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs,
and routine maintenance on trailers, trucks, and related equipment.
Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and precision
instruments (e.g., calipers). Inspect vehicle systems, including
transmission, electrical, exhaust, and braking. Safely test drive
and evaluate vehicles before and after service. Follow repair
checklists and document findings, actions taken, and solutions.
Leadership & Training Provide guidance, support, and training to
fellow technicians. Evaluate work quality and ensure compliance
with industry standards. Mentor team members on proper repair
techniques and best practices . Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
Communicate shift updates and issues clearly across teams and
management. Use company software platforms to complete required
reports and work orders. Workplace Safety & Cleanliness Ensure a
clean, safe, and organized work environment. Perform routine
housekeeping tasks, including tool and equipment maintenance.
Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations. Knowledge & Skill
Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Trade School
certification preferred. Minimum 2 years experience as a Technician
Level 2 or higher. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving
record (if driving is required). ASE certifications strongly
preferred. Proficient in mechanical diagnostics, troubleshooting,
and repairs. Computer literacy and ability to use diagnostic
software and reporting tools. Strong communication and leadership
skills. Attention to detail with a commitment to safety and
quality. Must own required tools and personal safety equipment
(e.g., steel-toe boots, safety glasses). Must pass a pre-employment
drug test, background check (10 years), and physical exam. Ability
to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands Heavy Work: Exert up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50
lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly. Frequent activities:
Walking, standing, climbing, stooping, crouching, balancing,
kneeling, and crawling. Manual dexterity: Frequent use of hands and
fingers for grasping, typing, and operating tools. Sensory
abilities: Talking, hearing, & vision sufficient for detailed
inspection, safe operation of tools, machinery, and vehicles. Work
Environment Work is performed primarily in a shop setting — both
indoors and outdoors. Conditions may include exposure to:
Non-climate-controlled environments / Hot/cold temperature changes
Dirt, dust, soot, fumes, and other airborne particles Moving
mechanical parts and electrical equipment Chemicals and limited
ventilation High places, confined spaces, and loud noise Proper PPE
and adherence to safety protocols are required at all times.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate: $25 - $35 (depending on
