We offer online business coaching, the first and only online course on how to become an Elopement Photographer, the first and only course for photographers on how to "Leave No Trace" when operating on public lands, as well as templates, guides, and workshops that help photographers build business that are both personally fulfilling and financially thriving. Besides Maddie Mae, we have in-house curriculum design, content creation, and community support staff, all based in Fort Collins, CO.Learn more about Maddie Mae and Adventure Instead Academy at @adventureinsteadacademy and adventureinstead.com/academy.So what's the job?In a nutshell, your job would be collaborating with Maddie Mae, the founder, CEO, and Marketing Director of Adventure Instead (Elopement Photography Collective) and Adventure Instead Academy (Online Education for Photographers) to create and optimize the marketing strategies for both businesses, and most importantly, you'd be in charge of working with the in-house marketing staff and outside contractors making these strategies actually happen. Essentially we are looking for a reliable make-it-happen "doer" who excels at implementing digital marketing strategies (both directly, and by managing others) who is also willing to collaborate and be another bright marketing mind to bounce ideas off of.You'd be a perfect fit for this role if:* You love collaborating to come up with the best digital marketing strategies, but find the most fulfilment actually implementing ideas and making them happen.* You thrive in busy, fast-paced environments and are skilled at prioritizing what's most important and working efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously (this role encompasses two businesses after all)* You absolutely love staying on top of the latest digital marketing trends and keeping up with the current best practices on how to excel with SEO, facebook advertising, email marketing, Instagram, Pinterest, and Youtube.* You like "getting your hands dirty" with actual execution of marketing tasks but also enjoy delegating and managing team members and contractors to make tasks happen (content writers, copywriters, social media assistants, virtual assistants, designers, developers, etc).* You're not afraid to keep the "overly-excited-about-ideas" creatives on our team on-task so that brainstorming sessions are productive and both businesses' marketing strategies get implemented consistently so that the "needle keeps moving."* You are a "systems thinker" and can easily conceptualize massive and complex strategies like sales funnels with 80+ emails and ads, connected with automations in 6 different programs.* You don't like being an unvalued "cog in a machine" at a big business or soul-less marketing agency and are looking for a place where you'll fit in and be valued long term as part of a team who has each other's back, and truly cares about each other.* You enjoy being around passionate entrepreneurs, but you know yourself well enough to know that you would never want to run your own business yourself or freelance.* You have passion for and experience in the topics relevant to both of these businesses-outdoor adventure, hiking, travel, weddings, elopements, photography, creative entrepreneurship, and education-and are excited about being a part of a close-knit, family-like team.What you'll do:* Digital Marketing Strategy + Execution: Work directly with Maddie Mae (the CEO/Marketing Director) to create and refine our marketing strategy for Adventure Instead and Adventure Instead Academy across our main 6 channels (website/SEO, email funnels, facebook ads, Instagram, Pinterest & Youtube) and be the person in charge of making sure it gets implemented. Work collaboratively with both teams to create & coordinate high quality and well-designed content that creates value for our target markets and fits our brand image and direction and marketing goals. Continuously analyze and research the competitive environment, consumer trends, and internal analytics to keep both businesses at the top of their respective industries.* Content Planning & Creation: Manage and execute the implementation of the marketing strategy by scheduling and running content planning meetings and managing our editorial calendar for all channels across both businesses. Directly create or oversee the creation of all marketing content for both businesses, including 10 high quality, SEO-optimized blog posts or other written content pieces per month, 2-3 emails a week, 5-7 high quality instagram posts per week, 20-30 pins a day on Pinterest, 1 YouTube video a week, and additional potential future content channels. Develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand voice across both brands and all platforms.* Website Management and SEO: Keyword and audience research to inform marketing strategy and content creation. On-page optimization of blogs, landing pages, cornerstone content, and lead magnets. Off-page optimization, generating 10-20+ link backs every month via guest blogging, blog submissions, and other publicity strategies. General website and SEO maintenance including monitoring and generating reports from Google Analytics, Google Search console, etc. to inform strategy and measure success in lead generation and brand awareness.* Facebook Ad Campaigns & Email Marketing: Develop and maintain sales funnels including integration with social media ads, email campaigns, and learning management software. Create Facebook ad campaigns, optimize sales funnels and email drip campaigns. Ad cost monitoring, budget management, A/B testing, and continual optimization of existing Facebook ad copy, media, and targeting. Drip email campaign copywriting, content creation, and monitoring.* Social Media Management: Manage social media presence (Instagram, Youtube, Pinterest, Facebook, etc.) and direct projects to improve social media reputation and recognition as well as generate leads. Strategize and plan out posts in advance and manage the posting of content and engagement on all of our platforms. Identify social media KPIs, and continually optimize content and engagement strategy to make measured improvement using detailed analytics and keeping informed with the current best practices on all platforms.* Other responsibilities as requested: Small businesses thrive with folks who are willing to "fill in any gaps" as requested-we're looking for a willing team player here!Specific Experience & Skills Needed:* 2-5+ years digital marketing experience with the proven ability to execute digital marketing strategy across all our channels. In-depth, demonstrable experience with Facebook Ads and SEO (Wordpress, Google Analytics, & Google Search Console) is specifically required.* BS/BA in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred; startup leadership experience may substitute for education.What it's like to work with us:* We are so much more than just coworkers.
