GENERAL MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION The General Manager reports to the Operations Manager and Vice President --- Evaluate and be accountable for the performance of the restaurant. Knowledge and experience in the following areas would be required in order to evaluate an assistant manager's or staff member's performance. --- Ensure the safety and security of the facility and staff --- To oversee and control all costs Food Labor Liquor Other direct Other non-controllable --- Perform semi-annual Quality Assurance Reports Quality, Service and Cleanliness --- Maintains cleanliness of restaurant in compliance with Health Dept. regulations --- Safeguard quality and consistency of all menu items Food specifications Recipes Plate presentations Food quality --- Direct and approve all maintenance and repair of restaurant equipment --- Provide management and staff ongoing guidance and training in order that they can provide customer service, establish customer rapport and guarantee return business --- Gather and verify financial data Auditing Ensure accurate in-store accounting P & L's Budgets Insurance Workmen's Comp Liability Health --- Negotiate with service providers and vendors Trash removal Phone systems and equipment Burglar Alarm Liquor Food Distributors Beverage Distributors Linen Uniforms Music Utilities Repair companies Pest control Banks Credit Cards Chemicals Local law enforcement Advertisers, etc. Contracts and rebates --- Oversees human resources activities Hiring/Firing Timely performance reviews and merit increases Training Disciplinary and/or counseling measures Attend and conduct regularly scheduled meetings --- Monitor and manage management and staff incentive programs --- Ensure compliance to federal, state and local regulatory laws and licenses Health Department Workmen's Compensation Unemployment Discrimination Immigration Employee files and documentation Liquor licenses Employee notification posters Occupancies and fire regulations --- Devises and implements local marketing programs in order to build volumes the restaurant --- Controls and oversees purchasing and receiving, and maintains appropriate inventory levels such that no menu items are unavailable or subject to waste --- Coordinate all menus Liquor Entr--e - Lunch/Dinner Dessert Seasonal/Sport Tracking Pricing --- Willing to comply with company standards Must be able to work flexible hours at different locations Willing to work 40-50 hours per week Must have reliable transportation Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to reach and bend with ease Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays Must be fluent in English Must not have any diseases that can be transmitted through food Must not discriminate against individuals based on gender, race, creed, religion, national origin, age or disability.
