CSU Health Network

services on campus, referral for community specialty care, and

Medical Clinic
The Medical Clinic at the CSU Health Network provides acute and
chronic care to CSU students by appointments and on a walk-in basis
for urgent concerns. Primary care physicians, physician assistants,
and nurse practitioners care for students, with emphasis on
preventive care, education, and continuity. The medical staff are
supported by a full range of laboratory, radiology, pharmacy,
physical therapy, psychiatry, optometry, and nutrition services on
site, and integrated care with counseling staff enhances the
treatment of students with behavioral health concerns. Minor
procedures are performed in the clinic. The Medical Clinic provides
services between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday,
providing attractive work schedules for staff. Position Summary The
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatric Physician Assistant
provides outpatient adult and occasionally adolescent psychiatric
evaluations, medication management and brief psychotherapy;
responsible for psychiatric assessments and management, ordering
and interpreting tests and documenting in the electronic health
record; assesses patient progress and modifies treatment plans
accordingly; institutes emergency hospitalizations for patients in
crisis for their safety and stabilization when needed; refers
patients to community providers when needed; provides tele
psychiatry services through video/phone conferencing.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatric Physician Assistant
reports to the Director of Psychiatric Services and works as a
provider of psychiatric care. Required Job Qualifications
