Job Description:
Job Description We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to
join our multidisciplinary team of OTs and SLPs serving adults with
Parkinson---s and other complex neurological diagnoses. We have a
unique, well-loved private practice that is looking for a kind,
intelligent, warm-hearted, team-building Speech-Language
Pathologist as we bid goodbye to a fabulous team member who is
moving out-of-state. Your personality matters immensely. We are a
small team who works closely together and focuses on building great
relationships, between us and with our beloved patients. All
potential candidates must participate in and be unanimously
approved through both an employer interview and a team interview.
If you have experience and training in Parkinson---s interventions
and protocols, wonderful If not, we will provide training.
Responsibilities: Utilize standardized and informal tests and
measures for accurate diagnosis and management of communication,
voice, swallowing, and cognitive disorders Establish personalized
treatment goals and therapy plans in coordination with patients to
address specific needs and desires, documenting and updating
progress/status as indicated and communicating with all team
members Demonstrate care and interest in a person's story, seeing a
person for how they have lived during their earlier, more active
lives as well as addressing their concerns for increasing
limitations in recent years Bring hope, education, motivation, and
inspiration to patients and families Use relevant functional
environments and activities in assessment and treatment, exploring
environmental adaptations to maximize a person's effective,
successful interactions with both necessary and desired activities
Provide treatment as long as is medically necessary and beneficial,
either during active rehabilitation or long-term skilled
maintenance therapy to maintain gains achieved or prevent/slow rate
of decline given progressive neurological disease Show a constant
willingness to learn and be challenged in professional growth Be an
excellent team member who works well with others and is willing to
do a variety of clinic tasks Qualifications: Be of strong, ethical
character and have a warm, engaging personality Completion of a
Speech-Language Pathology Master's level degree Certificate of
Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association (ASHA) Current Colorado State license as a
Speech-Language Pathologist Minimum 1 years of experience as a
Speech-Language Pathologist with adult populations. Geriatric care
experience preferred and considered highly beneficial. (Sorry, we
cannot accept Clinical Fellows due to Medicare reimbursement
guidelines.) Reputation for excellence in personal character and
Speech-Language Pathology evaluation and treatment 3-5
character/employment references, including positive history of
leave-taking from prior employment Be available to work up to 5
days a week (M-F) for 30-40 hours/week or 60-80 hours per two-week
pay period Additional requirements that will need to be met prior
to providing clinical services, though these may be acquired with
employer assistance following hire: National Provider
Identification (NPI) number Medicare Participating Provider status
LSVT LOUD-- Certification SPEAK OUT-- Certification Good visual
acuity and physical mobility for performing job tasks, including
the ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects up to
50 pounds Ability to build rapport with patients, families, and
team members, with strength in communicating effectively,
