I’m a born and raised Colorado Native that moved to Delta County about 5 years ago. I attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins and graduated with a degree in Communication Studies (which honestly I thought I’d never use but I am learning that it helps me day-to-day). After graduating I managed the housekeeping company that I had been working for to put myself through college and eventually I moved to the area to eventually become the General Manager at Smith Fork Ranch in Crawford. After moving to Crawford I decided that the Western Slope was where I wanted to be and have decided to call the area home.

I hope to be spending my time meeting our Chamber Members and help the Board in coordinating membership programs and benefits, providing opportunities for members to network and promote their businesses; and help to plan and execute local events.

Outside of the Chamber you'll often see me with my fur kids Charlie (pictured) and Berkeley.

Job Description, Responsibilities, Duties & Required Skills

The role of the Executive Director is to work for and with the Board of Directors and all Chamber members. This position manages the daily office operations; implements policies and procedures set by the Board; coordinates membership programs and benefits, providing opportunities for members to network and promote their businesses; and helps the Board to plan and execute events.

Expectation of the position: The position will require 25-32 hours per week, and will include some evening, weekend and/or holiday hours. More hours are expected leading up to and through major Chamber events. Time worked includes participating in all Chamber activities. Regular office hours shall be maintained as Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Board of Directors has the authority to alter office hours. The Executive Committee has the authority to grant time off, however time off is restricted to time that will not impact coverage of identified duties below. The Executive Director is expected to work independently as well as cooperatively with teams. The Executive Director represents the business community and the local area. Expectations extend to the person and to the office that both must be maintained in a professional manner consistent with dress code or decorum identified by the Board. The position requires a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Provide a congenial and professional atmosphere to all phone calls and walk-in customers. Answer and respond to all applicable calls and emails.

Manage and prioritize all incoming/outgoing communications and social media (Constant Contact weekly e-newsletter; Facebook page; Instagram page; website). Manage authorized social media and update Chamber website information with current events and information. Create and prepare the weekly Chamber e-blast using Constant Contact. Include any and all business-related information. List all current events with emphasis on Chamber events in the e-blast and events calendar. Highlight new members and their businesses as they join the Chamber.

Maintain equipment and service contracts.

Procure and maintain proper current licenses for the Town, County and State. Procure and maintain proper insurance for the Chamber.

Maintain, organize and retain Chamber policies and records, either digitally or by hard copy. All documents must be readily available to all Board members and Members to easily access.

Adhere to acceptable accounting practices regarding financial transactions.

Develop and assemble new member packets, sending or personally delivering information to prospective members.

Schedule and organize Business After Hours, new member ribbon cuttings, Member of the Month presentations, and other networking events that may arise.

Coordinate committees and scope of work for Membership, Marketing and Applefest committees, and others that the Board may deem necessary.

Promote and educate members regarding available programs and services.

Plan and coordinate events: Scheduling, marketing, registration, recruiting sponsors, vendors and volunteers.

Cooperate with and work with the Town Administrator and Economic Development Coordinator with the Town of Cedaredge.

Assist the Chamber Board Treasurer by preparing an annual budget, managing accounts payable and receivable, including payroll every two weeks. Retain all financial records as required, such as; Quickbooks entries, CPA, and IRS reporting.

Collaborate with other community leaders and develop alliances with Cedaredge area business developers.

Skills Required

Highly proficient in Google Drive Suite and Microsoft Suite

Working knowledge of Facebook and Instagram

Working knowledge of Constant Contact email marketing software

Working knowledge of website management using WordPress

Graphic design

Proficient in Quickbooks and basic bookkeeping practices. Must be able to read, run and understand Quickbooks reports.

Must be able to work under pressure and work with the public in a professional manner at all times.

Must be able to set priorities and work independently most of the time.
