Working Title Interior Architecture and Design Instructor - Open Pool Position Location Fort Collins, CO Posting Number 202000193F Proposed Annual Salary Range For 40% time $20,000-$25,000 Employee Benefits Position Type Faculty Work Hours/Week Description of Work UnitThe Department of Design and Merchandising has 19 full-time faculty positions, tenure and non-tenure-track faculty, as well as administrative professionals and staff who support approximately 600 undergraduate students and 20 graduate students. The department is housed in the new Nancy Richardson Design Center, which opened in January 2019 and features new classrooms and fabrications labs designed to foster innovative teaching and learning as well as in the neighboring Gifford Building. The department is also home to the Avenir Museum, a new facility with a repository of 20,000 historically and culturally significant items of dress, textiles and interior artifacts representing regional, national, and international cultures. No % Research % Teaching % Service % Administration To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59pm (MT) on 08/31/2021 Number of Vacancies Desired Start Date Position End Date Position SummaryThe Department of Design and Merchandising seeks applications for Spring 2021 part time, adjunct instructor(s) to teach one or more courses in the Interior Architecture and Design Program. Responsibilities may include teaching required undergraduate courses, serving internship coordinator and/or industry liaison. It is anticipated that this position would allow for remote work (if desired) and the possibility for continuation through additional semesters based on department and program needs.Teaching Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:INTD 129 Introduction to Interior DesignThis course focuses on introducing students to the profession, including an emphasis on elements and principles of design.Academic advising for undergraduate interior architecture and design studentsInternship Coordinator/Industry Liaison responsibilities may include the following:Develop internship MOUs with local, national, and international firmsGuide students during the internship search and placementAdminister for-credit internship experiences for student in the IAD program.Maintain and develop new relationships with industry partners (beyond internships)Coordinate planning for the Interior Architecture and Design end-of-year ShowcaseConditions of Employment Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Required Job QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in architecture, interior design, or environmental design.A minimum of 2-years industry experience in architecture, interior design, or environmental design.Preferred Job QualificationsDemonstrated success in teaching at college and university.Demonstrated success in developing academic and/or professional development classes.Demonstrated involvement in design industry professional organizations.Special Instructions to ApplicantsPlease apply with a cover letter addressing how you meet the required and preferred qualifications, resume or CV and contact information for 3 professional references.
