Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations (ELC) is both practitioner-oriented and research intensive. The Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations offers Masters, Ed.D., and Ph.D. degrees and several post-masters certificates in the intersecting areas of educational leadership and cultural studies. ELC is housed within the School of Education at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, which The Carnegie Foundation has classified as a higher-research activity university and has certified as a community-engaged institution in both curricular engagement and outreach and partnerships. Position Summary The Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations (ELC) in the School of Education at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) is conducting a search for an individual to serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor. As a significant aspect of this position, the individual will work in concert with ELC faculty and staff in coordinating, monitoring, and supporting ELC doctoral students' progress. The individual will also provide ongoing research, writing, and editing support to ELC doctoral students and teach classes that are related to the ELC doctoral programs. This is a one-year appointment to begin in August 2021. The position is potentially renewable for up to an additional two years (three years total). DUTIES: Work in concert with the ELC Office Manager, the ELC EdD and PhD Graduate Program Directors, and the ELC Chair in managing and monitoring ELC doctoral students, including tracking program milestones, inputting and organizing data, and ensuring submission of graduate school forms. In coordination with ELC faculty, provide ongoing research, writing, and editing support to ELC doctoral students. Teach classes each semester that are related to the ELC doctoral programs. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have an earned doctorate in educational leadership, cultural foundations of education, or related field. Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to organize, manage, and monitor data, forms, and student progress. Candidates must demonstrate experience in assisting students (preferably doctoral students) with writing. Candidates must be committed to developing a just and caring democratic society and building community across lines of difference (e.g., race/ethnicity, gender/sexuality, (dis)ability, culture, perspective, academic specialty, and/or method of inquiry). Preferred Qualifications Candidates who have previous experience organizing, managing, and monitoring data, preferably student data. Candidates who have previous experience working with higher education faculty. Candidates who have previous experience working with doctoral students on writing, editing, and/or research methods.
