Overview Larimer County Community Development Department is seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team and grow their career as a Business Operations Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have the technical and personal skills to perform and oversee the planning administrative team and customer service functions of the Community Development Department, including overseeing the development review process and managing and scheduling meetings and notifications. The individual in the position guides a small team to be successful and operates in a leadership role within the department. Finally, the individual in this position will uphold the County's Vision and Guiding Principles, assisting the Planning team to support improved processes, innovation, and quality customer service. Responsibilities Specifically, this position: Exercises supervision over a small team of administrative staff and participates in the Department Lead Team to identify problems and solutions, develop policies, and cultivate a enjoyable, fulfilling, and collaborative place to work. Manages programs and systems that contribute to that success, including overseeing and coordinating the development review process, including checking applications and responding to inquiries and closing files; overseeing Special Events permit functions; and managing and coordinating data entry in EnerGov and developing options and improvements to the system. Works with customers both internally and externally to help them in understanding complex processes. Manages scheduling and agendas for seven boards and commissions. Manages, coordinates, and maintains all information as pertaining to the County's Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Code, including all amendments. Directs and manages the scheduling and arrangements for all public hearings/meetings and coordinates agendas mailing, notifications, and legal notices for the Planning division. Coordinates the community service function role and public engagement to aid in problem-solving and foster positive relationships within the organization and with the public. Supervises and coordinates distribution of information from the division to the public and oversees and coordinates the division's webpages. Serves as staff liaison with County Public Affairs Department. The ideal candidate will: Use routine software and business application including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases. Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community. Possess all basic and some advanced skills and knowledge of business operations. Understand the scope and application of laws and regulations pertaining to a Planning program. Perform duties in support of the Planning Division. Have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Have good customer service skills. Be adaptable and flexible. Qualifications All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process. Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field required. Three (3) years experience in a directly related field required.
