This position supports Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants and workforce programs such as the Career Transition & Training Team - Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adult and Dislocated Workers through internship services and wrap-around job search supports focusing on program participants with varying socio-economic backgrounds, skills, education, and interests while creating and maintaining business partnerships with employers that host interns.

Specifically, this position:

* Performs employer and business outreach marketing/development. * Facilitates relationship building between clients and businesses hosting interns. * Conducts case management including employment counseling, career development and connecting clients to community resources. * Performs data entry and record keeping using routine software and business application including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases. * Listens intently and effectively as clients provide information and respond in a professional, productive, and appropriate ways to convey a caring, insightful, professional manner. * Requires clear and concise communication both verbally and in writing. * Develops, recommends, and, where appropriate, implements creative service strategies for clients to best meet client needs.

The ideal candidate will:

* Have experience in employer and business outreach marketing/development. * Have experience working with varied people in need (laid off workers, people with barriers etc.) * Have the ability to be flexible and adapt to continuous change. * Have experience in employment counseling and career exploration. * Be data and technology oriented. * Pay attention to details and have experience in writing, data, and record keeping. * Have empathy and conflict resolution skills. * Be able to work independently and within teams. * Have the ability to provide high-quality services in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, and possess exceptional organizational skills, and accurately meet deadlines. * Have the ability to provide services in an online virtual setting while developing meaningful relationships within this environment. * Have strong communication and relationship building skills. * Bilingual candidates English/Spanish encouraged to apply.


All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

* One (1) year of experience in a directly related field working with adults or youth in a human services setting, particularly in an employment-related services or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities is required. * Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration or a related field required.

Supplemental Information

This position is limited term. Individuals hired into limited term positions are eligible for County benefits, however, the position is limited in duration dependent upon available funding, business need or signed contract or agreement.

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
