Ensures estimates, schedules, constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, cost report planning and purchase planning efforts and documents meet detail, schedule and quality requirements. Prepares estimates at all design stages (Conceptual through Construction Documents) on negotiated and competitive bid projects. Interfaces with Owner, Architect/Engineers and subcontractors to resolve technical matters during design or pre-bid, and provides engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Professionally represent GH Phipps and effectively support Company strategic initiativesEstablish and foster positive long-term relationships with all business partners including owners, architects, engineers and subcontractorsCultivate and manage relationships with new and existing clients; Provide client with accurate estimates and value engineeringAssume single responsibility for large, complex projects; assume overall responsibility for the preconstruction stage of each projectIdentify tasks to be accomplished in order to satisfy contractual requirementsProvide overall Preconstruction effort oversight and show ability to lead a project team and project solutionsManage estimating process through initial advertising/prequalification and solicitation of subcontractors, bid evaluation process and awardEffectively schedule complete Preconstruction effort including all estimate milestones, durations and identifying long lead items and other needsOrganize departmental team so that each estimator involved knows responsibilities and deadlinesMentor/teach junior estimators all aspects of preconstruction processPrepare estimates for all stages of design from Conceptual through Final Construction Documents (Design/Build, Guaranteed Maximum Price, and Hard Bid diversity)Perform value engineering and life-cycle costingDevelop and write all bid packages and subcontractor scopes of workParticipate with the Project Manager in award of subcontracts and write all subcontracts before turning over to construction teamDemonstrate exceptional presentation and sales skills while serving on RFP/Interview teamsEDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent fieldEXPERIENCESix(6) years CM/GC experienceThree (3)years healthcare and technology construction experience preferredSKILLS

  • Exceptional accomplishments, leadership and communication skillsincluding:
  • Ability to complete large CM/GC projects and large, complex competitive bid projects
  • Independent sales strengths for presentations and projects pursuits
  • History of strong communication internally with Project Manager and Superintendent and externally with Owner, Architect/Engineer, and subcontractors
