Time-Outpatient • Salary Range: $216,000 - $324,355 annually, based
on relevant years of experience • Location: Fort Collins, Colorado
Role Overview: Responsible for providing direct professional
services in the evaluation and treatment of clients in outpatient
environment at a community mental health center. The primary focus
of this position will be mental health; substance use and physical
health as it relates to clients. Essential Duties: Function as the
medical team representative to a multidisciplinary treatment team
designed to offer comprehensive behavioral health services.
Evaluate clients for mental health, substance use and medical
disorders, determine the appropriate course of treatment for the
clients. Provides direct client care centering the voice of the
client in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Diagnose, manage,
treat, and prescribe medication for a variety of acute and chronic
illnesses with an emphasis on substance use and mental health.
Assesses client health by interviewing clients, performing physical
examinations, reviewing medications, and reviewing medical
histories. Interprets and evaluates client data to determine client
management and treatment options. Institute emergency measures and
emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures.
Documents client care services by charting client and department
records. Instruct and counsel clients by describing therapeutic
regimens, providing counseling on emotional problems of daily
living, promoting wellness and health maintenance. Provides
continuity of care by developing and implementing client management
plans. Attend committee meetings, staff meetings and inter-agency
meetings as required. Participate in on call coverage schedule on a
rotating basis . Perform other duties as assigned. Required: Doctor
of Medicine degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an
accredited university. Understanding and commitment to medications
for addiction treatment and harm reduction principles required.
Strong understanding of substance use treatment Equivalent
combination of education and experience may be evaluated and
considered Licenses and Certifications: • DEA Certification
required. • License to practice medicine in the state of Colorado
required. • Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain
within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record required • Board
